In Willingen, a very special hotel concept is being created by December 2026: The Schutzhütte – a casual lifestyle & design hotel that combines alpine flair with boho elements using state-of-the-art facilities and offers an exclusive range of services.
A place of enjoyment and relaxation
In addition to the casual lifestyle atmosphere and the special design, the highlights of the Schutzhütte also include culinary delights with two restaurants and a cozy bar with a fireplace lounge, as well as the extraordinary wellness and spa area with saunas, an outdoor infinity pool and a special spa bar for relaxing moments.
Particularly noteworthy is the direct connecting corridor to the lagoon pool, which provides guests with convenient access.

The Schutzhütte, with its 69 stylishly furnished hotel rooms and 8 stylish chalets, is geared towards active families and individualists of all ages who value a relaxed lifestyle atmosphere, closeness to nature, sporting activities and culinary delights on vacation—and appreciate both personal and digital service.
About the Vollbracht family
Behind the Schutzhütte are Sandra and Marc Vollbracht, who together have been successfully running the multiple award-winning Familotel Sonnenpark since 2012, which is also located in Willingen.
The 4-star hotel offers hotel vacations for the whole family. The 92 apartments, the entire service and the hotel facilities have been consistently geared towards the needs of parents and children.
But what happens when the children are too old for the Sonnenpark? With this question in mind, the idea was born to also take care of these guests and their changing vacation needs—without families with children being disregarded when planning the Schutzhütte.
Schutzhütte vs. Sonnenpark
Families are also very welcome at the Schutzhütte. Compared to the Sonnenpark, however, the Schutzhütte is not a family hotel with childcare and children’s play areas.
If you know the Sonnenpark, you appreciate the extensive all-inclusive offer where, with just a few exceptions, all services are included. At the Schutzhütte, many services will also be included, but it is not an all-inclusive hotel. Meals are booked individually. This opens up every option: time for excursions, nature experiences by bike, on foot or on skis, or a discovery tour through Willingen’s diverse leisure world. This way, you can shape your vacation individually and casually.
Since 2013, the Sonnenpark has been among the annual winners of the HolidayCheck Award. Sandra and Marc Vollbracht are particularly proud of this, because guest satisfaction is their top priority. That’s why the warmth and attention to detail that is cultivated at the Sonnenpark is also set to move into the Schutzhütte.
