Laying of the foundation stone for the Hotel Schutzhütte

A very special hotel concept is being created in Willingen: the Vollbracht family, who have already set standards in the family hotel industry with the multi-award-winning Familotel Sonnenpark, are continuing their visionary commitment with the laying of the foundation stone for the Schutzhütte design hotel on 18.06.2024. By 2026, a casual lifestyle & design hotel will be created, which combines alpine flair with boho elements using state-of-the-art facilities and offers an exclusive range of services.

In addition to the casual lifestyle atmosphere and the special design, the culinary delights are also among the highlights of the Schutzhütte. The “Naschmarkt” restaurant impresses with its diverse and varied grill buffet, the “Deli”, which promises new taste experiences with tapas-style dishes, and the spacious and cozy bar with fireplace lounge – there is something for every taste.
Another highlight is the extraordinary wellness and spa area with saunas, an outdoor infinity pool and a special spa bar for relaxing moments. Particularly noteworthy is the direct connecting corridor to the lagoon pool, which provides guests with convenient access.

The Design-Hotel Schutzhütte is not only located right next to the lagoon pool, but also in the vicinity of other attractions such as the ice rink, the Skywalk, the summer toboggan run, the climbing hall and many other leisure facilities. Willingen also offers a wonderful landscape for biking, hiking and skiing.

In the realization of the project, the Vollbracht family attaches great importance to regional partnerships, such as the cooperation with the companies Bastian Becker for the earthworks and Fisseler for the shell construction. Of course, this also applies to the ongoing hotel operations with regard to the products used.

The opening of the Hotel Schutzhütte is planned for 2026. It offers 67 rooms, ranging from double rooms and family rooms to exclusive 70 m² suites with sauna, as well as 10 chalets, a spa area with saunas and pool, a conference area, a fitness area and bike and ski storage. The direct tunnel connection to the neighboring lagoon pool is particularly noteworthy. Behind the Schutzhütte are Sandra and Marc Vollbracht, who run the Familotel Sonnenpark together.

Sandra and Marc Vollbracht have been running the multi-award-winning Familotel Sonnenpark in Willingen, which was founded by his parents Karin and Ulrich Vollbracht in 1983, very successfully since 2012. The 4-star hotel offers hotel vacations for the whole family. A total of 170 employees work there every day to ensure that guests have the best family time together all year round. The Vollbracht family has consistently geared the 90 apartments, the entire service and the hotel facilities to the needs of parents and children. But what happens when the children are too old for the Sonnenpark? With this question in mind, the idea was born to cater to these guests and their changing vacation needs while still taking families into account.

This year, the editors of kinderhotel.info voted Familotel Sonnenpark Germany’s most popular family hotel for the sixth time in a row.
