Construction Update January 2026: Reaching new heights with solar energy

The roof of the Schutzhütte is now completely finished and sits majestically on our construction project. Thanks to the innovative integrated solar modules, we are sustainably relying on the power of the sun to supply the new lifestyle hotel in Willingen with energy.

Topping-out Ceremony – the Roof of the Schutzhütte is On

With the topping-out ceremony, another important construction phase has now been completed. The roof rests on the shell of the Schutzhütte and we were delighted to host a celebration to mark the occasion. The traditional topping-out ceremony speech was given and the glass was ceremoniously smashed on the floor of the hotel. This is supposed to bring good luck and blessings As part of a small vernissage, we presented our guests with an exclusive insight into the vision of the Schutzhütte. Previously unpublished renderings showed rooms, terrace, restaurant and more. In his speech, hotel manager Marc Vollbracht also shared a few construction anecdotes and led tours through the shell. Meanwhile, our guests were already able to get an impression of the premises and the locations for rooms, wellness area and more.

Interview with the Upländer Milchmuhseum

At the Upländer Milchmu(h)seum, exciting guided tours await you, covering topics such as milk processing and the art of butter and cheese making. The special features of modern agriculture and dairy farming are also explained. In addition to the Upländer Bauernmolkerei, the Milk Café invites you to linger. Museum director Nicole Engelbracht gives us an insight.

Curtain up for the panoramic igloo sauna

While a lot is still happening around it, the panorama igloo sauna has already been allowed to take its place on its designated plateau. Experience the exciting journey from truck to Schutzhütte with us.

At an incredible 665 meters, the Skywalk in Willingen is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Germany and the third longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. A spokesman for this new Willingen landmark, Arndt Brüne, is available for an interview.
